Structural Firefighting Operations
This course consists of four modules:
- “Reconstructing the Size-Up” – (Four Hours)
Involved will realize the methodologies for “Exterior & Interior Size-Up” that can positively influence strategic decision making processes during hostile situations. - “Assimilating the Indispensables” – (Eight Hours)
Through mechanisms associated with TI Directed/Led Fire Attack involved will progress methods for hose line management, nozzle selection & stream placement, flow path control, searching for victims off the hose line & evolve capabilities associated with effective & efficient forcible entry process & advantageous ground ladder operations. - “Victim Search Reimagined” – (Eight Hours) Together instructors and participants will examine the facets of conventional & eccentric searches directed/led by the TI as well as investigate potential interferences for establishing aptitudes to resolve conflicts that may be encountered.
- “Gauging the Competencies” – (Eight Hours)
Involved will engage in Multi-Company Fire Ground Operations that focuses on Crew Resource Management to secure the knowledge, skills, and attitudes including, communication, situational awareness, problem-solving, decision-making, and teamwork for profitable TI tactical operations.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long is the duration of the course?
From the moment you enroll into this course, you will be allotted 30 days to complete the online portion of the course. Feel free to work at your own pace to finish the course, so long as you meet the 30-day deadline and have a final grade of 70%. If you do not finish the course within 30 days, you will not have further access to the course. Here at FFTI, we understand that extenuating circumstances may arise and leniency may be granted depending on the nature of the circumstances that the student is faced with. You must notify the instructor prior to the end of your 30 days in order to qualify for an extension to complete the course. This is by no means a guarantee that an extension or exception will be made.
Do you require any portion of this course to be completed in person?

Upon completion of the course, will FFTI issue a certificate of completion?
Yes, once you finish the course you will be provided a certificate of completion. In addition to receiving your certificate of completion, your instructor will also update your course completion into FCDICE through the Florida State Fire College.
Will this course count towards Continuing Education Units (CEUs)? If so, how many CEU’s will I obtain?
This course does not count toward any Continuing Education Credits.
